The possible shares & costs include:

Half of a full share from last July!

  • 25 week  half share with 4-9 seasonal vegetables ($450)
  • 20 week fruit share with 2-3 regionally sourced  fruit varieties ($200)
  • 12 biweekly deliveries over a period of 20 weeks of Community Supported Medicine share with 2-3 fresh herbs or prepared product with information on the natural medicinal use ($180)

The benefits of a CSA:

  • Direct commitment:  As a CSA member, you have the satisfaction of knowing your up front commitment plays a part in providing financial security to local sustainable family farmers during the planning season. Lancaster Farm Fresh Cooperative (LFFC) has grown from 20 organic farms to over 70 in the past 5 years.
  • Direct connection:  Your direct relationship with your farmers through the CSA provides you with trust and knowledge of your food source.
  • Value and Freshness:  As a CSA member, you get maximum value and optimum freshness in your produce share.
  •  Challenge:   You enjoy the challenge of trying new vegetables and varieties in the share as well as supporting your health by eating a certain amount of fresh organic produce each week.
  • Community:  Catch up with fellow CSA members each week at distribution, exchange recipes and share stories.

A total of 20 full shares (or 40 half shares, or a combination totaling 20 full shares) is needed to bring this service to the Jefferson Community.  To get more information, stop by the information table on April 19, 2012 from 11-1 during the Earth Day events at the Atrium or at the plaza behind the Scott Memorial Library.
