2012 Earth Day Events at Jefferson: Film Screening and Earth Day Fair

April 16, 2012

Every day is Earth Day in my mind – especially on the official Earth Day as noted in my planner, April 22.

Each year Thomas Jefferson University Hospital hosts Earth Day events – and this years events spanning over two days!  The events will kick off on April 18, 2012 with a film screening of Go Ganges! followed by Q&A with producer J.J. Kelley.

In one of the most unusual expeditions of its kind, GO GANGES! is perhaps the funniest documentary on The River Ganges ever.  At its base it’s an environmental story, but not one of doom and gloom.  The adventurers provide a colorful testimony to the distress the river endures, and why it merits reprieve as an irreplaceable emblem. Journey to India on the heels of the expedition, there you’ll encounter the unspeakable and the divine.

Check out the trailer and event details here!

Following the film screening the Earth Day Fair will kick off in TWO locations bring entertainment and education.

Field Trip to the Earth Day Event in 2011

From 11-1 on April 19 in The Atrium or in Lubert Plaza you will find the Earth Day Fair.  Stop by to find more information on what Jefferson is doing to stay green!  Vendors include the Farmers Market, Lancaster Farm Fresh CSA, Common Market, Philadelphia Bike Coalition and many more!  As if those vendors weren’t enough fun, there will be live music at BOTH locations!
